We Xinyi Club are studying Daishi Xinyi Quan, traditional Chinese martial arts (kung-fu) bequeathed in Shanxi Province, China. Xinyi Club was founded in Shanxi in 1997. Our leader K. Kitanishi is one of the sixth generation successors of Daishi Xinyi Quan. He is the first non-Chinese disciple of Daishi Xinyi Quan.
Daishi Xinyi Quan is a school of Xinyi Quan, which is mainly handed down in Shanxi. The history of Xinyi Quan is very long, and the practitioners are widely distributed throughout the world. Each school of Xinyi Quan has produced so many masters that Xinyi Quan has gained a good reputation widely in the traditional martial arts' world of East Asia. In this shining history of Xinyi Quan, Daishi Xinyi Quan has followed a unique process of succession. The founder of Daishi Xinyi Quan is Dai Long Bang, and the Dai family has passed this treasure down from generation to generation. The Dai family was so famous as a business magnate. Thanks to the wealth, they could afford to improve their original style of Xinyi Quan. Daishi Xinyi Quan, suitable to the heading family name "Dai", has been handed down by succession only within the Dai family. In Shanxi, there was a saying: Everyone has heard that the Dai family learned martial arts, but no one has seen them doing it. As this phrase shows, Daishi Xinyi Quan was concealed within the Dai family for a long time.
However, in twenty century, major political upheaval over East Asia ruined the Dai family. Even the prosperous Dai family eventually collapsed. In this situation, it was fortunate that Dai Gui, who was the Dai family's last master of Xinyi Quan, could hand his treasure down to several pupils outside the Dai family, so Daishi Xinyi Quan barely survived. Getting through the foundation of the People's Republic of China and the disturbance of the Cultural Revolution, Daishi Xinyi Quan has flourished as one of precious traditional kung-fu.
